Deandra Evans is a native of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, and the Founder, CEO, and Chief Clinical Officer of Right Direction Behavioral Health Services. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Slippery Rock University and her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University.
With more than 15 years of experience in the social services and behavioral health field, Deandra is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory designation (LPCC-S) in the state of Ohio and also holds licensure in Pennsylvania. She is deeply committed to helping others, giving back to the community, and serving as a positive role model for young women and emerging professionals.
Deandra attributes much of her resilience, drive, and unwavering determination to the influence of her late mother, Ms. Deidra Evans. The powerful bond they shared profoundly shaped Deandra’s personal and professional journey. After her mother lost her battle with stage IV colon cancer in 2015, Deandra experienced a period of deep grief marked by depression, anger, and overwhelming sadness. During that difficult time, she temporarily lost her passion for helping others, questioned her faith, and struggled to find meaning.
Over time, through intentional spiritual and emotional healing, Deandra rediscovered her purpose and reignited her passion for supporting individuals on their journeys toward holistic wellness. She now identifies this season of her life as the most pivotal and transformative turning point in her personal and professional development. Despite her clinical training, Deandra experienced firsthand how even the most knowledgeable professionals can feel hopeless and overwhelmed—an insight that now deeply informs her compassionate leadership and clinical philosophy.
She credits her healing journey to four foundational factors: the strong relationship she shared with her mother, her clinical education and professional experience, her unwavering faith and belief in God, and a consistent and supportive social network.
These core principles directly shaped the mission and vision of Right Direction Behavioral Health Services. Deandra firmly believes that educating families, youth, and communities about mental and behavioral health creates lasting pathways to healing, empowerment, and generational change.
She teaches that individuals who understand and apply the following values are better equipped to lead their lives in the RIGHT Direction:
